Govt rules out augmentation of Haduro 0.5 MG water plant in Hazratbal | KNO

Srinagar, Oct 29 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has said that it has no plans to augment the Haduro 0.5 million gallon (MG) Water Plant to address drinking water scarcity in Phaak area of Hazratbal constituency, while several bore wells and hand pumps are already operational in the area. In a written reply to a question tabled by MLA Salman Sagar, the Jal Shakti Department, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), stated that there is no proposal under consideration for augmenting the Haduro Water Plant at present. The reply, however, informed that six bore wells have been constructed in the Hazratbal constituency, while 240 hand pumps are operational. The department further said that five new hand pump wells have been sanctioned or constructed during the current financial year to help address deficiencies in water supply in the area—(KNO)
